Grego

Traditional advice has been to wear it into the shower and clean it there...

I could not agree with you more! I cycle to work every day (often in a suit or dress) and the only piece of bike 'kit' I ever wear besides a helmet is a cycling cap. I know it looks funny but I don't care! They have some sort of voodoo magic in preventing helmet hair and I can throw them in the washer. Win-win.

Jim

somewhere I heard that you should use toothpaste to clean the straps on your helmet. I haven't tried it let, but sweaty smelly helmet straps are the worst.

Korina

What you should do is buy a helmet with black straps and it'll be clean forever! Well, until the salt builds up. 🤣

Seriously, though, I do clean mine on occasion, just probably not enough. Think I'll go wash my straps now.

Rig

Alternative method: spray the straps with rubbing alcohol.
