Yoiks! I was in SCA 30 years ago in Ohio.

The bike and panniers.................Yellow I love them, what it's about a walking/running dog lead? Well OK that's true. I have a loving beast next door who I have taken on runs next to my bike, I'm in need of this so I'll give it a try-thanks Oscar says thanks too

After checking into just what a boffer sword is I realized that not having an interest in swords was going to make this hack a bit more challenging. Any other item that could be used instead?
Out of curiosity is Rona's boffer sword all foam?

It's PVC pipe covered in foam insulation, wrapped in duct tape. :D

I just loop a decent length leash around my seat post

Late to this post but a couple of comments...

Exercising dogs with bikes, roller blades, etc is not a good idea for most breeds. It is extremely hard on dogs and can lead to overheating, exhaustion, joint problems, injury to pads due to unseen glass, etc.

It breaks my heart to see some cyclist cheerfully cycling along while their dog, tongue lolling, struggles to keep up. I once watched a brain-dead roller blader force his dog to keep up with him for miles and the dog was clearly in distress.

If you must do it, go extremely slowly so that the dog is trotting, not running, at most, especially if your dog is a mutt, or not one specifically bred for the purpose of work or running. Stop often to check on the state of your dog.

If it's a hot day, don't do it at all.

Le agradezco por la ayuda en esta pregunta. A Ud el foro admirable.
