We have blogged about a few ways to transport tools recently and in response a reader contacted us with yet another. The first post covered an off the shelf product called the Cage Rocket. The second post covered another off the shelf idea, although the peanut butter needs to be removed first.
Reader Paul, who Flickr's here, was reading and sent along a link to the following pictures of his own hack (all pictures credited to Paul). Most water bottles have a very small hole at the top that will not allow for large objects to fit through. Paul simply cut a slit down the side of the bottle . . .
. . . which allows him to slip his phone and wallet in . . .
. . . and then slide it into his cage.
If it's for your girl it's bike purse. If it's for you it's a carry all =)
I do not know where Paul lives, but it must be someplace where rain is not a factor.
Not the most attractive solution, but I guess it works. If you ask me it would need a lid not just for the rain, but to prevent smaller stuff from popping out.

"...although the peanut butter needs to be removed first." Thanks for the clarification!

Also guys you need to have some way to remind you to remove it when you are parked b/c I'm sure it won't take long for someone else to notice you left it on your bike.
