Why all these hacks about alternatives to shortening chains? Did you lose your chain tool?

Nah, I'll give him this one. It's a old recumbent trick. When your chain gets to be that long you need some support in the middle. We are talking about a hacked tandem after all.

I wonder what Syd Mead would say about bicycles being able to carry beer kegs? He seems to be under the impression that they can't even carry a watermelon, therefore they are not 'transportation'.
