Yes, inadequate infrastructure is an issue and it is an issue that will only be rectified by increasing numbers of cyclists of all types, including e-bikes, pushing our politicians to re-allocate resources. If we have more "ELF"s in the workshop, Santa will have to provide a place for them to ride. :o)

I humbly disagree with Rod. There is a wealth of perfectly adequate infrastructure suitable for cyclists. The problem is that most of it is given to automobile drivers (imagine if the breakdown lane on the interstate was a bicycle lane instead). As far as the Elf is concerned, I'll stick with my old Japanese touring cycle.

I can see it being better respected by drivers since it "looks like" a car and not a bike. That'll be good for safety for the person in it.
