Cool hack, but if I'm not mistaken... aren't Maglites fully submersible?

While it is tempting to use inner tubes for stuff like this and it might even be practical in a pinch, exposure to sunlight and environment will cause the inner tube material to get tacky and eventually weaken it to the point of being useless.
