Whether it rains or not, I also make it a habit to put baby powder in my shoes. When powdering the inside recently I had an idea, why not powder the outside as well?
It's not like I'm going to wear my shoes to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance or anything, and I figured the powder would just disappear after a few days. After one ride to work they looked like this -
And a couple of days later my shoes were back to normal.
And maybe it's just my optimism, but I don't think they smell as bad anymore either =)

Baking soda is the magic solution to your shoe odor problems.

I love the mismatched socks too.

I'll try to politely go there; but is there a reason for the mismatched socks? Aside from testing to see if anyone pays attention to your site....
I like the newspaper idea. I could use that when my shoes sit around at work this time of year.

Leo,
Is there a rule that socks have to match? =)

:-D
No, there is no rule, you got me there. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something...aside from the fact that your socks didn't match.
That is all.

Watch out for talc/baby-powder on the outside-bottom of shoes. It will make them deadly slick on smooth surfaces.

When coming home after a wet winter ride, we put our shoes, upside down, on top of a floor vent. The heat, dries them out quickly and they're ready to go again later that day or the next morning.
In fact, shoes, go on one vent, shoe covers on another, gloves and hat on a third. There are times when we just run out of vents.
