A few weeks back I noted that the kind person behind One Good Earbud agreed to send along some products for me to test. Three samples came: an in-ear bud, a wrap around right ear cover bud, and a wrap around right ear cover bud with a microphone for mobile phone use.
I have tested two of the buds over the past few weeks and am quite satisfied. They have proved to be durable and the sound quality is good. To test out the dual channel capability I tried several songs but I landed on one that really allowed me to hear the difference - Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf.
There is a lot going on at the start of Magic Carpet Ride and I listened to the song over and over, switching out one ear phone from my normal set with the One Good Earbud product. The difference was noticeable. I also tested out the mobile phone microphone and it was great as well. Those I talked to said they had no problem hearing me which was great. If you are wondering, no I did not talk while riding =)
One other benefit I noticed is less cord tangling with the One Good Earbud products. It might not sound like a big thing, but I find myself frustrated a lot when I pack away my normal headphones and end up with something looking like this when I pull them out to use them -
It might not be readily apparent from the picture above, but the cords of my Sennheiser CX 300-II are are tangled up to a degree such that it took me over a minute to get them untangled in this instance.
I give One Good Earbud products a thumbs up. I am going to keep two because I have already used them, and who wants a used earbud, however I would like to give the third one to a reader. I am open on contest ideas to choose a recipient. If you have ideas send them our way.

Nice headphones...i mean headphone!...how about you give the spare to the person who has the crappiest, most broken and taped together current set...happy to send you a picture of mine!

I say another blog post w/ a random winner chosen from those who submit comments.
It's fair and equitable.

Hey Matt - just wanted to say thanks for the post / review before on these things.
I got the "in the ear" one and it's really great as I don't have to tuck the other into the neck of my shirt -- and it's easy to change from ear to ear (to keep the ear closest to traffic free )
I don't use earbuds on my commute, but certainly do on my longer weekend pleasure rides and also around the house and working out. This "one earbud" has already won me over in the short time I've had it.

Just give it to me and save yourself the hassle ;)
Nah I'd be down to win it with my current set up...
