I think as long as it was tight and didn't move around it would be no different than riding 2-up. Pretty sweet hack for those of us who prefer two wheels over four

That would be next to nothing in comparison to an adult on the back seat. Neat hack.

I remember a guy 20 years ago who came to all the regional races with a very similar set up. I never got a close look at how he did it, so thanks for posting this photo.

Leo Horishny

I agree with Luke and Steve, as long as it was secure (although on that bike it doesn't look particularly secure in that picture) having the bike back there wouldn't be riding issue.

A definite PITA getting on and off the bike though!
I admire the commitment to cycling :-)

I saw the same thing when I was in Flagstaff at a car show. Check out the photo (http://mybimmer.com/gallery22/main.php?g2_itemId=16374)

Keep up the great work!

Sorba Woodstock (GA) had a photo on their site of a similar set up but I can't find it now. I saw it in the Blanket's Creek Mountain Bike Trails parking lot a couple of years ago.

I'm pretty sure Greg Herbold had one of these (or similair) in the late 90's on one of his dirtbikes, so he could ride to his favourite MTB trails...

Barrett Lang

Bicycles on motorcycles? Not a problem. I took this homebrew rack on the interstate for a 3 1/2 hour trip, to do some riding with a buddy of mine in Kansas City.

This isn't unique.... you can buy something similar from http://2x2cycles.com/

Len Yarbrough

This is my old friend's setup. I inspired him with my own bike-on-bike setup.

Looks like they've been commercialized: http://www.bikerumor.com/2011/01/25/2x2-vs-johnny-rack-the-battle-for-motorcycle-bicycle-rack-supremacy/
