I guess it is suitable to put a bag there...


Or put a GPS, a pair of lights and a pair of cup holders.


I've used bars like this on my tandem for years.
They are great to add stability to otherwise flexy bars on heavy bikes. And if placed closer to the bar ends, they add another hand position.

I don't know if this is considered a 'hack' as it is a manufactured product being used as it is intended.

I have seen these in use with extra headlights.
