In a recent post I noted that I was smitten with mittens when it comes to battling cold temperatures. All of my fingers together in a mitten generate heat and I actually end up with sweaty hands, even when riding in low-low temps.
Reader Papa Bear let us know that he also likes keeping his fingers together, but he goes with a split. In his words:
For cold weather riding, and full ability to reach brakes and shifters, I use the Louis Garneau Magma Gloves. They are mittens that are split down the middle, making more of a lobster claw look. You get the warmth of mittens with the dexterity of gloves. I personally love them! Oh, and Garneau isn't the only company to make that type of glove, so you can get other styles as well.
