Does the airbag fold up when not in use?

I'd like to see a solution that allows for riding to the airport, packing up the bike, flying to the destination, and riding away from the airport upon arrival, instead of having to deal with a big old box or padded bag.

I actually had an idea once while flying for a business that I think would work. Imagine kiosks in different airports, at which you could check out a shipping box. They would have bike specific ones, as well as boxes for computers, ski gear, and other odd or large shaped cargo.
You rent the box at airport A, fly to airport B and check it back in. Then ride your bike to wherever. On your return flight, you do the same.
The company might also do some shipping of cargo, to offset the cost of handling all those empty boxes...

Anyone reading this with the funds and werewithall to make this happen, the idea is yours. I look forward to using the service.
